Location: Old County Rd., Truro MA
Project File: This vacation house features and "upside down" floor plan, with all the living space on the top floor, to take advantage of ocean views.  The challenge with a house like this, since most houses have more living space than bedroom space, is not to make the house "top heavy."
Designer: Duxborough Designs
Builder: Owner contracted with construction supervision provided by Duxborough Designs

Renderings done by Duxborough Designs using digital 3D modeling, enhanced with "Raytrace" technology to produce stunning lifelike visuals. (Standard with all new design development)

The street side of the house presents a somewhat traditional "carriage house" style.

The rear of the house with views of marshland and ocean beyond is all about glass and decks.

A second story "bridge" connects the 2nd floor living areas with the guest room above the garage, as well as providing a link from the garage to the kitchen.

The advantage to upside down houses is that the entire living space can have cathedral ceilings.  The dormers are cathedral dormers open to the living space below.

The living area and the master suite to the left feature soaring ceilings, stunning views and lots of deck space.

The "bridge" to the guest cottage over the garage facilitates foot traffic flow around the house and provides a good space for an outdoor shower.

The entry leads to a children's family room and bedrooms on both sides, and a stairway to the living level
